Master Plan, Modernization & New Construction
In the Fall of 2006, 19six Architects was hired to take over the task of master planning two of the District’s campuses. 19six worked with the District and committees to create cohesive campus master plans for Frazier Park Elementary School (K-5) and El Tejon School (6-8) and develop budgets for each campus. The main goal at each site was to bring order and coherence to the layout of the campus and to create exterior and interior spaces that were more comfortable to the students and the staff.
19six accomplished this by refocusing each campus around the center of learning – the library. We also realigned the administration facilities to be in a more prominent place at the front of the campus for security and monitoring purposes.
With assistance from 19six, the District leveraged $3 million in modernization grants and new construction growth eligibility from the State to bring the total construction budget up to $10 million.
