The new aquatics center re-opened in June of 2019 on the Cuesta College, San Luis Obispo Campus. The project is a full replacement of the failing existing pools with a new 50-meter competition pool and 25-yard teaching pool. A new pool deck, drainage system, surge tanks and high efficiency pool equipment were also included as well as new diving boards, starting blocks and a bulkhead. Accessibility upgrades were also a part of the project, not only to the pools, which added new entrances and a restroom building on the deck, but to the surrounding support buildings and parking lot too. The new pool is utilized by both student athletic programs and robust community programs as well.
